Law Report Binding

At Bookbinding Services, we provide binding services to many of South Africa’s leading legal professionals.

Additionally, we provide binding for several magistrate offices and High Courts.

Types of Binding

We usually bind law books in two different ways:

Half Calf

  • For this method, we use leather for both the spine and corners.

Full Case with Imitation Leather

  • This method uses imitation leather such as Novalite or Skivertex. We then use this to cover the book.

Binding Process

Monthly issues of the various law reports are bound 2 monthly, 3 monthly or 6 monthly.

In preparation for the binding process, we strip off the covers, remove individual indexes and content pages and insert the cumulative index into the front of the book.

We then make sure to check every book to make sure the pagination is correct.

Furthermore, the spine of the book is labelled with the correct title of the book, as well as the volume number and date.

Personal or company name can be gold foiled onto the bottom of the spine if required.
